The Open6GHub+ transfer hub continues the work of Open6GHub in a targeted manner and focuses on implementation. The focus is on resilient and trustworthy 6G networks, the integration of 3D networks, and the investigation of electromagnetic exposure. Another focus is on the interconnection of 6G and artificial intelligence.
KIT is primarily involved in the implementation of the Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) concept. The aim is to enable users or objects to be detected and notified in real time wherever possible. This is particularly relevant in autonomous traffic scenarios. The metrological investigation of such scenarios is to be made possible with the help of the massive multiple input multiple output (mMIMO) testbed set up at the IHE.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the project. KIT is participating in the Open6GHub+ with a total of ten research groups and is funded with 3.9 million euros.
