For modern wireless systems such as high-resolution imaging and high data-rate communication applications, wide bandwidth becomes crucial. This increases the need for broadband Front-Ends at frequencies beyond 100GHz. The D-Band (110 - 170GHz) is licensed for 6G communications and mm-resolution radar. The unity current gain frequency and the maximum oscillation frequency of modern technologies are becoming closer to the operation frequency. This imposes challenges on the design of PAs with high gain and 1dB compression point. Therefore, a large fractional bandwidth PA design with flat gain and saturated power become essential and one of the key requirements of such applications. Stagger-tunned amplification is one solution to design wide bandwidth PAs. Such solution and others can be investigated and implemented to be proven.
