Multistatic MIMO Radar Arrays

  • This project focuses on the development and analysis of multistatic MIMO OFDM radar arrays, with an emphasis on their application in the automotive industry for enhanced object detection and localization.
The goal is to explore how OFDM-based radar systems can offer improved resolution and robustness in complex driving environments, while addressing key signal processing challenges such as synchronization, interference, and clutter suppression.

The student will work on fusing data from multiple distributed radar nodes to achieve more accurate and reliable target localization. The project can also involve optimizing the spatial arrangement of these radar nodes on a vehicle and optionally implementing an efficient signal processing algorithm to extract relevant target information in real-time.

This thesis is ideal for students interested in radar signal processing, sensor fusion, and autonomous vehicle technologies. A background in digital signal processing, wireless communication, or related areas is recommended.

    Requirements:

     • Communications engineering, signals and systems

     • Knowledge of Matlab or Python (NumPy)
