Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits and Systems (RFICS) (2+2 SWS)

with RFICS Design Workshop

Lecturer: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ahmet Cagri Ulusoy

Workshops: M. Sc. Tsung-Ching Tsai

Lecture Topics:

  • Understanding of RF-IC technologies
  • Analysis of active and passive components in IC-design
  • Overview of system level approach to RF-ICs and transceiver topologies
  • Theory and design of basic building blocks of an integrated transceiver including low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), mixers, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and power amplifiers (PAs)

Design Workshop:

The lecture will be organized in parallel to an RF-IC design workshop where the students will have access to a state-of-the art BiCMOS technology and will design RF-IC building blocks using industry-standard tools
