Description
For a joint project between IHE, University of Stuttgart, IHP, and TESAT-Spacecom a broadband phase shifter operating in Q- and V-band (35 – 60 GHz) is required to compensate for possible phase errors in the system. Currently, an active phase shifter is under investigation at IHE. The proposed thesis is meant to introduce an alternative solution, i.e. a fully passive phase shifter and/or its building blocks.
Tasks:
- Research passive phase shifter architectures and their building blocks.
- Investigate the bandwidth enhancement techniques of passive components.
- Schematic and layout design of a Q- and V- band phase shifter in 130-nm SiGe technology.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of circuits (e.g. ES, RFE or RFICS)
